Happy Monday! Last post until the end of the world!
Anyway, today's post comes from Horizon Elementary School in the Pewaukee School District. The high school robotics team went over the Horizon and presented the robot to their lego club. The students in the club work on a grouping of projects for half the year before rotating out with other students (so they do all the projects each semester, but the students are different in each half). Here are the pictures from the demo:
Some words of advice, always deny the Apocalypse, because it it turns out to be true, then no ones going to be around to say they were right.
See ya in a few weeks, it's holiday break everyone!!!

Happy Monday! In Graphics Arts 1 at Pewaukee High School, students have been recreating digital characters in Adobe Illustrator. Here's my recreation of Kirby!
My version is on the left, the original picture is on the right. Isn't it awesome? I even made gradients on him! See ya next week!

Day 11 : November 19, 2012
Happy Monday! Today I'm sending a thank-you out to the Art department for letting me take pictures of some of their stuff the other day! As it turns out, the Sculpture class made a bunch of heads in class over the past month or two and they just got fired last week. Well, when you are making something out of clay to be fired in a kiln, if you have any air bubbles trapped in your sculpture, it's going to blow up. And because they are fired 20 or so at a time, the shard of the busted head fly out and break other sculptures nearby and so on. Turns out about 3/4 of the heads were busted with varying degrees of destruction. Here are the results:
Christopher Walken
Albert Einstein
Hipster Hitler?
See you next week and hope you have a great Thanksgiving!

Day 10: November 12, 2012
Happy Monday! Tomorrow, the Academic Decathlon Team (ACADEC) is having its first competition of the year (Locals). Academic Decathlon is a club in which you receive a giant study guide of materials ranging over seven subjects (Music, Language Arts, Science, Social Science, Economics, Math, and Art) based off of the theme for the year. This years theme is Russia. So I was studying my Science tonight (Space race stuff) and was bored with just looking at facts on my computer screen. Here's my favorite method of studying science:

Day 9: November 5, 2012
Happy Monday! Today all the sophomores had to sit through the first of several days of WKCE testing. We got to miss our whole second hour class. Lots of fun. Anyway, the picture today comes from the LEGO Robotics team at Asa Clark Middle School where members of the high school team help mentor at. This shows the enthusiasm of our Middle School team:
Doesn't he look excited? They have their first competition of the year on Saturday, good luck guys!

Day 7: October 22,2012
Happy Monday! The Pewaukee Academic decathlon team had a scrimmage this evening and it was raining. And misting. Anyway, this is picture of a rainy tree outside the van as we were driving there:
Stay tuned for the next installment of Focusing on Mondays!

Day 6: October 15, 2012
Happy Monday! At Pewaukee High today was College and Career Readiness Day, testing in the morning and then listening to presentations in the fields we were interested in during the afternoon. But both were a little dull, and we found entertainment in doodling on the test booklets. I think the machine operators are going to enjoy looking through mine.
See ya next week!

Homecoming Week Special: October 5, 2012
Happy Saturday! The Homecoming game was so exhausting and cold, there was no way I could post right after. Anyway, As you can imagine, there were a TON of pictures, first up is the High School Pep Rally where we watched videos, saw people preform in silly games, and took part in chanting "Stupid Freshmen!" (A Pewaukee tradition).
After the pep rally and school let out, there was a 3 hour lag between the end of school and the start of the parade so everyone could get ready. Once we were all lined up and set to go in the Queen of Apostles parking lot, we started off on the mile long trek along the lakefront, past the library, and up the hill to school. I was mainly in charge of taking pictures for Robotics club and keeping an eye on the GoPro camera that we mounted on to the camera with a large suction cup mount. I can't believe we didn't have any major issues, too many things could have gone wrong. The video it took is really cool though, once I get it edited, I'll post it.
We were positioned in the middle of the parade, but that meant we dragged everyone else behind when a train came through.
The kids really liked the robot, but they also really liked the candy we threw...
About an hour after the parade finished up, the game got started. There was a second pep rally (the same as the one during school) going on during this time, but for those who did not want to see it and just go right from parade to game, they could get in for free.
We beat New Berlin West 32-24, but we were down most of the game. Woo!
Come back here Monday for the regular Monday posting, It's exhausting posting every day! See ya!
