Day 11 : November 19, 2012

Happy Monday! Today I'm sending a thank-you out to the Art department for letting me take pictures of some of their stuff the other day! As it turns out, the Sculpture class made a bunch of heads in class over the past month or two and they just got fired last week. Well, when you are making something out of clay to be fired in a kiln, if you have any air bubbles trapped in your sculpture, it's going to blow up. And because they are fired 20 or so at a time, the shard of the busted head fly out and break other sculptures nearby and so on. Turns out about 3/4 of the heads were busted with varying degrees of destruction. Here are the results:

 Albert Einstein

Hipster Hitler?

See you next week and hope you have a great Thanksgiving!

Day 10: November 12, 2012

Happy Monday! Tomorrow, the Academic Decathlon Team (ACADEC) is having its first competition of the year (Locals). Academic Decathlon is a club in which you receive a giant study guide of materials ranging over seven subjects (Music, Language Arts, Science, Social Science, Economics, Math, and Art) based off of the theme for the year. This years theme is Russia. So I was studying my Science tonight (Space race stuff) and was bored with just looking at facts on my computer screen. Here's my favorite method of studying science:

See you next Monday!

Day 9: November 5, 2012

Happy Monday! Today all the sophomores had to sit through the first of several days of WKCE testing. We got to miss our whole second hour class. Lots of fun. Anyway, the picture today comes from the LEGO Robotics team at Asa Clark Middle School where members of the high school team help mentor at. This shows the enthusiasm of our Middle School team:
Doesn't he look excited? They have their first competition of the year on Saturday, good luck guys!
